Since NASCAR was spawned from the moonshine trade, it seems natural that its most iconic driver would add his name to the newest batch.
Sugarlands Distilling Co. announced on Wednesday that it’s teaming with NASCAR legend Richard Petty in the launch of Petty Punch Moonshine. The official launch is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 8, at Sugarlands’ downtown distillery in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Petty in person at Sugarlands during a special appearance that day from 2-4 p.m.
According to a news release, Petty Punch is a “vibrant, fruit-forward shine ... with a smooth, sippable finish.†Petty Punch is available in 750mL jars featuring an unmistakable silhouette of “The King†on the label. Petty Punch is 50 proof (25% alcohol/volume), a far cry from collecting the drippings out of a still and outrunning the “revenuers†to deliver it.
