A Burke County entertainment venue is branching out, with a new location set to open in several months.
Stidham’s Lounge, which previously was known as Stidham’s Axe Throwing & Lounge, plans to move into the lower portion of Mull Tower, located at 820 S. College St. in Â鶹´«Ã½.
Owner Dylan Stidham plans to keep the location at 420 W. Fleming Drive, Suite E, in Tannery Square, and turn it into a family-friendly arcade.
“It’s going to be, you know, pretty much like a birthday party venue and kid-friendly venue,†Stidham said. He’s looked into potentially having bouncy houses at the location, but is still deciding on ideas for the venue, he said.
“I compare it probably pretty closely to a Chuck E. Cheese’s, just without food, those kind of style games,†Stidham said. “Maybe a couple of pool tables in there.â€

The name will change, but he hasn’t decided what it will be yet, Stidham said in June.

Stidham’s Lounge, which features axe-throwing and a mechanical bull, will be moving in about two months from Tannery Square to Mull Tower. The owner will turn the Tannery Square location into a family-friendly arcade.
Stidham said he has removed the axe-throwing lanes to make way for the arcade games.
The hours of operation for the arcade will likely be noon to 9 p.m., he said.
But adults shouldn’t worry that they will lose out.
Stidham said Stidham’s Lounge is moving to the lower part of Mull Tower at the Corner of College Street and West Fleming Drive.
The 7,300 square foot area will have a small kitchen, 12 pool tables, axe throwing, a mechanical bull and a stage for live entertainment and karaoke. The venue will be open seven days a week with extended hours on weekends, Stidham said.
Stidham said he anticipates moving into Mull Tower by the end of August or September, pending city approvals.
It will take some work to get it ready to open.
He said the space has never been anything before. While it has some concrete floors, other areas are still dirt. He said it will need new bathrooms as well.
“It’s gonna need a complete overhaul in there,†Stidham said.
The venue will offer bar foods such as wings, appetizers and sandwiches, he said.
Stidham said the new venue will have a better stage set up for live entertainment and karaoke.
The new location will be open seven days a week. On Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays, it will open at 11 a.m. for lunch and close at 2 a.m., Stidham said. The rest of the week, its hours of operation will likely be from 11 a.m. to midnight, he said.
“I’m excited. I can’t wait to be able to get started on the building side of it and get it rolling,†Stidham said. “It’s gonna be good for Â鶹´«Ã½.â€
He said people will be able to access the new venue by following the handicap ramp in the Boulevard Barbecue parking lot that runs alongside the building. Access also will be available through the red wooden door in the lower parking lot near Little Caesars, Stidham said.
