A little ingenuity, wire, fabric and 42 rolls of duct tape have gone a long way for Iredell County student Nicholas Moore.
The duct tape tuxedo he created landed him a spot as a finalist in the tuxedo category of the Stuck at Prom Scholarship Competition, a creative contest hosted by Duck Brand.
The rising senior at South Iredell High School said he put almost 100 hours of work into creating not just the tuxedo, but a duct tape French horn as well.

“I absolutely love music, and that was why I decided to make my duct tape suit the way it is,†Moore said.
The duct tape outfit is adorned with a French horn, trumpet and music notes. He said he used a Cricut to help design and cut out the gold and white flourishes that pop out on the tux. In all, he has the jacket, pants, vest, marching band helmet, shoes and French horn together for his duct-taped ensemble.
“I really love music, and I love making things as well, so it’s always really fun to me to just make something and show it off. I really wanted a chance to be able to show people what I could do with duct, it’s been very fun,†Moore said.
