‘Happy Gilmore 2’ has reached number one on Netflix, drawing in 46.7 million views in the three days after its launch.  This release marks Netflix’s biggest US opening weekend to date and Adam Sandler’s most successful streaming release so far. The sequel’s success boosted the original film, which is currently third on the global top 10 list, with 11.3 million views.  Released nearly 30 years ago, 'Happy Gilmore' helped establish Sandler as a comedy icon, earning over $40 million at the box office. In the sequel, Happy is retired and battling addiction, but he returns to golf to pay for his daughter’s expensive ballet school in Paris.  Christopher McDonald reprises his role as Shooter and is joined by Benny Safdie, Bad Bunny, Travis Kelce, and members of Sandler’s real-life family. Despite its strong viewership, the film has received mixed reviews with a 61% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.3 rating on IMDb.
