Independence Day celebrations and large fireworks displays are coming up.
Below is a list of fireworks displays set to take place in Burke County and surrounding areas for the Fourth of July.
Burke County fireworks
The city of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ will celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show at Freedom Park on July 4. Fireworks are set to begin at about 9:45 p.m.

The fireworks start time is subject to change depending on the weather, the city said in a news release.
Fireworks will be shot from the grounds of Freedom Park. The park will be closed to the public. Those wanting to view the fireworks display should find parking at nearby businesses along Independence Boulevard, Wamsutta Mill Road and North Green Street/N.C. Highway 181, the city said.

The town of Valdese will hold its annual celebration on Friday, July 4, starting at 5 p.m. There will be children’s activities, a cruise in, live music, food, drinks and a fireworks show. Music starts at 7 p.m. The fireworks will start at dusk, at about 9:30 p.m., according to the town. The fireworks are set off at the football field behind the Old Rock School.
McDowell County fireworks
The city of Marion will host its Independence Day Celebration in downtown on July 4.
The free event will begin with a parade at 6 p.m., followed by street dancing at 6:30 p.m. with live music and a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m., according to the Destination McDowell website
The event will also include food vendors and inflatables.
The event will be along Main Street in downtown Marion. Parking will be available along side streets, the Tailgate Market Lot and the city’s public parking lots on the west side of Main Street, the website said.
Catawba County fireworks
The Hickory Crawdads will put on their largest fireworks display after the baseball game on July 4. The baseball game starts at 7 p.m.

A section of the Aviation Walk and 24th Street NW will be closed to the public starting at 4 p.m., the city of Hickory said in a news release.
During these times, access to the fireworks zone will be restricted to professional pyrotechnics staff and Hickory Fire Department personnel, the city said.
Iredell County fireworks
The town of Troutman will host its annual Independence Day celebration at the Iredell County Fairgrounds on Thursday, July 3. Fairgrounds gates will open at 6:30 p.m. for spectators to bring blankets or chairs and find a fireworks viewing spot. The event is free and open to the public, the town said on its website.
The event will have live music by Bourbon Sons and DJ Sheldon, food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, balloons by Margenia and more. Fireworks will start around 9:30 p.m. or once the sky is dark, the town said.
Only clear bags will be allowed inside. Attendees can bring water bottles, blankets and chairs. Coolers, glass bottles or containers, fireworks or sparklers, tobacco products, alcohol and tents are not allowed, the town said.
Food trucks that will be at the event are: Mullins Madness, The Truk, Skinner’s Hot & Tasty, Randy’s BBQ, Chikas Ticas, Bossman’s Big Bitz, Lobster Dogs, Kona Ice, Landcruiser’s Local Shop & Cafe, LegenDairy Ice Cream, Old Time Concessions and Snack Shack Concessions
The Iredell County Fair Grounds are located at 630 N. Main St., in Troutman.
The 2025 city of Statesville Fireworks Celebration is set for July 3 at 9:30 p.m. The display will be launched from the Signal Hill Mountain Bike Trail area off Signal Hill Drive, the same launch location as in previous years, the city said in a news release.
The event is organized by the Statesville Recreation and Parks Department with the support of the Statesville Police and Fire departments. Officers and firefighters will be on-site to help direct traffic.

The Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville will host its Field of Flags Summer Celebration on July 3 at 6 p.m. The event will include live music, food trucks and a fireworks display. The event will be held at 170 Joe Knox Ave., Mooresville.
Carrigan Farms will be open all day on July 4 for swimming. The swimming hole will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. to sunset. Carrigan Farms is located at 1261 Oakridge Farm Highway in Mooresville. Reservations are recommended but not required.
The town of Mooresville will not be host its annual Stars & Stripes on Main Parade this year.
Caldwell County fireworks
The city of Lenoir Independence Day fireworks show will start at 9:30 p.m. on July 5 at the Lenoir Optimist Park. Parking will be available around Waterlife Church, CubeSmart and Quest4Life in the old shopping mall parking lot. The public may also park in any other public parking areas around the park that are available.
Lenoir Optimist Park is located at 720 Mulberry St. in Lenoir.
Alexander County
Alexander County will host its Independence Celebration with a free concert and fireworks show on July 19.
The 2025 Summer Concert Series will feature the Jimmy Buffet tribute band Caribbean Chillers at 7 p.m. on the Rotary Performance Stage at Alexander County Courthouse Park in downtown Taylorsville. Fireworks will follow at Alexander Central High School around 9:30 p.m., according to the county website.
